"This abstract series uses aerosolized natural pigment on found paper. The technique captures the flower's delicate, fleeting essence, allowing color to settle by chance without the intervention of a hand or stylus. It is a quiet, layered study of the ephemeral made permanent." –Sarah Giannobile
Sarah Giannobile draws inspiration from botanical elements, natural forms, and shamanic animal totems. The use of unconventional materials, such as aerosolized paints, adds elements of chance and spontaneity to her process and allows the symbols to emerge organically. The irreversible nature of applying paint directly onto raw cotton canvas captures Giannobile’s first thoughts and impulses, preserving moments of unfamiliarity and subconscious emergence.
