CALEB ENGSTROM
Rest Energy is the Los Angeles-based design practice of Caleb Engstrom. Rooted in a fascination with contrast and tension, Rest Energy is intentional about its use of unexpected combinations, its balance of a process-driven materials exploration, and in its mixing function with themes of identity and introspection.
He has exhibited across the United States and internationally, including recently at The Wolford House and Frieze in Los Angeles, CA; Superhouse Gallery and Collectible in New York, NY; THEMA in Paris France; Alcova in Miami, FL; and SP-ARTE at the São Paulo Biennial Pavilion in Brazil. Caleb also leads a fabrication practice, Rest Fabrication, which has worked with top names in art, design, and architecture including Yoko Ono, Frida Escobedo, and Leong Leong. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine and lives in South Pasadena, CA.
