ERIK BENJAMINS TOILET PAPER ROLL HOLDERS

Adopting textures and languages from visual art, performance, design, and writing, Erik Benjamins' work champions the sensing body as a savored and necessary perspective with which to flex our relationship to Place and its messy frictions. Benjamins is also inspired by cookbooks for their celebrations of a subjective relationship to place, their function as a tool for sharing knowledge, and their insistence on the powers of the sensory and the social.

Sandro’s Hands is a brushed stainless steel toilet paper holder that celebrates a detail from Hand and Dove, one of the many Environmental Enrichment Panels designed by Alexander Girard for Herman Miller in the 1970s. This piece is an optimistic translation of the design, made expressly—and joyously—for bathroom use.

Sandro’s Hands can easily be installed onto a wall using two screws (detailed instructions are included).
